Statement Plans for the CSC, 2008-2009

In a group with this potential and magnitude, especially with such a new and controversial subject rooted in the heart of our very country, being heard is key. In this case, organization and teamwork are dreadfully important.

Keeping this in mind, the CSC has plans to carry out the following, if possible.

Firstly, in order to gain any sort of credibility among others, we are in dire need of a Teacher Advisor at AN Myer. There are currently plans in place to contact firstly Mr. Harris, the Civics/Law/History Teacher. Other possibilities may include Mr. C. Sirianni, and perhaps Mr. Mulvale, or Mr. Sauer.

Secondly, once a Teacher Advisor is in place, the next logical step would be making further connection in the administration. Naturally, I am referring to the Principal or Vice Principal. In doing so, we will be hoping to further our current advertising campaign, perhaps with time on the PA system occasionally, or even an ad or link on the school website. However, one of the main points to discuss with the Teacher Advisor and Principal is the possibility of instating the CSC as an official school club. In doing this, we hope that more students will see the CSC as a legitimate organization, and join. Or at the very least, perhaps some nice shiny school points will entice a bit of a crowd, no?

As well, making the CSC an official school club would not only make us a single minded organization, and would allow us to create a more concrete staying power within AN Myer. Not only would we be limited to the coalition controversy, as our current conflict, but also perhaps we would be able to do the same for future political events. Having an official club would allow us, with the help of a Teacher Advisor, to discuss and inform others of the political situations in Canada. Should the coalition debate no longer be relevant, the CSC would continue to thrive on the many political aspects of Canada. Should this idea grow into our sister schools, through our administrators there, and their work, it would even be possible for the different branches of the CSC to join together to debate, discuss, and even influence, should this come to its full potential.

Lastly, plans are already in the works for a YouTube connection within the CSC, in addition to the already running Blogspot, and Facebook sites. We are hoping as well to inform the press of this organization. In another effort to help inform people of the CSC, we will hope to advertise small presentations in the lecture hall for those interested. However, this would only be possible if we had the full support of the administration, and the help of a Teacher Advisor.
Currently, communication between David and several unions are in the works, and a rally is tentatively set for the new year, in the second half of January. Any new information or progress will be released as soon as possible.
